Our Process

The process begins when you contact us by phone or submit a request through our website. We encourage clients to upload photos of their space, inspiration images, or drawings. This helps us understand the scope before the first conversation.

At this stage, we’ll ask a few key questions:

  • What type of moulding or fireplace are you considering?
  • Is this a restoration or new installation?
  • What are your ceiling heights and room dimensions?
  • Are you working with a builder or architect?

For most projects, Sam or a team member will visit your home to review the space in person. This step is important for accurate measurements, understanding architectural proportions, and identifying any existing conditions.

If the project involves moulding matching or heritage restoration, we carefully inspect the original details and may take impressions or measurements for replication.

This is also when we discuss design direction, material options, and any technical considerations.

Depending on the project, we either:

  • Select from existing plaster profiles, or
  • Develop a custom profile scaled specifically to your space.

For fireplace projects, we consider ceiling height, wall width, and overall room proportions to make sure the mantel fits naturally within the architecture.

When required, we provide conceptual layouts or 3D renderings so you can visualize how the finished piece will look in your room before fabrication begins.

Samples can also be provided for approval, including plaster profile samples or cast stone finish samples.

Once the design and details are approved, fabrication begins.
All plaster mouldings and cast stone mantels are manufactured with precision in our facility. Because we control production in-house, we maintain consistency in detail, scale, and finish.

For restoration projects, custom molds are created to match the original profile as closely as possible.

Fabrication timelines vary depending on the complexity and size of the project, and we provide a clear timeframe before production starts.

After fabrication is complete, our installation team schedules the work at your property.

We handle:

  • Crown moulding installation
  • Plaster detailing
  • Fireplace mantel installation
  • Moulding matching integration

If required, we also offer patching and painting of plaster moulding to create a clean final finish.

Because we manufacture and install, there is no disconnect between design and execution.

Once installation is complete, we walk through the finished work with you to confirm everything meets expectations. Our goal is a result that fits naturally within your home and reflects the architectural style of the space.

Working with AM Group Studio means working directly with experienced specialists who understand proportion, restoration, and detail. From consultation to installation, our process is built around clarity, precision, and long-term durability.
