Each step is deliberate, as we’re taking exact measurements and physical moulds to match existing details and/or introduce new, all the while historically grounded, details. Yes, we can provide plaster and cast stone samples for review. Samples help confirm profile accuracy, proportions, material quality, and finish before fabrication begins. This is especially beneficial for restoration projects.

Yes, we take moulds from existing plasterwork to recreate and restore original details and designs. This includes historical and heritage home restorations. One of our primary specialities is matching and restoring details in plasterwork from the 18th to 20th century.

Everything can be customized. We adjust profiles, proportions, and overall scale to suit your space, rather than relying on fixed sizes. This guarantees the final result looks and feels properly integrated.

Standard plaster is not suitable for fireplace applications. We use a specialized heat-resistant plaster containing vermiculite to create cast stone surrounds and mantel elements. For the hearth and the areas directly around the firebox, we recommend natural stone or tile, where temperatures are highest. Proper non-combustible backing and compliance with fireplace clearance requirements are essential to ensure long-term performance.
